Die Zahl der Konflikte in afrikanischen Staaten nimmt zu – ebenso wie die Zahl der zivilen Opfer und Vertriebenen. In diesem Themenfeld blicken wir auf neue politische Ordnungen, die mit dem Auftreten nichtstaatlicher Gewaltakteure entstehen. Andererseits beschäftigen uns die Wandlungsprozesse von Konflikten und Kriegsführung selbst. Wie wirken sich Megatrends wie Digitalisierung und technischer Fortschirtt, sowie die Multipolarisierung der regionalen Ordnung darauf aus? Unser regionaler Schwerpunkt liegt hier auf dem Sahel und dem nördlichen Afrika.
