Megatrends Afrika Fellowship

Every year, Megatrends Afrika awards three fellowships to African researchers.

During the three-month fellowship, recipients are hosted at one of three institutions: the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin, the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn, or the Kiel Institute in Kiel. Throughout their stay, fellows gain first-hand experience of the host institution's daily work, while independently developing a policy brief based on their research.

The application and selection process for the 2026 fellowships has now concluded. We look forward to receiving applications for the 2027 programme.
